Coffee Anyone?

If we were having coffee I’d probably just hand you a list of updates because these days I am finding that it’s the only way I can effectively remember things. Lists of groceries, lists of things to do, lists of bills to pay to name just a few,

I’d gratefully sip the cappuccino I bought, I need a good hit of coffee today as I’m feeling a little shaky, probably due to the bad dreams and lack of sleep. Didn’t see those coming and I have no idea why they are, but any dream with an ex in it is usually bad.

I’d tell you I’ve been off for a few days and it’s been nice, but that I am filled with dread at the thought of having to go back to work tomorrow, I’ve kind of enjoyed living the last few days at a slower pace. Still the same anxiety, but perhaps not such a strong grip.

Conversation will most likely turn to WordPress and blogs and I’ll explain that I am a little miffed at all the changes being made to a platform that functions just fine without them. I’ll curse people who feel a need to fix things which are not broken and change things that are just fine as they are. I’d say I’ve missed a few posts lately between Bloglovin and The Reader because sometimes they just like to be a right royal pains in my posterior!

With glee I would tell you that I am quite possibly…actually almost certainly addicted to Nashville. People had been telling me it was good but I just never got around to checking it out for myself. When I did it was a little like a series watching hoe down in a barn, once I had started I just could not stop. That said, I have only made it to the end of Series Two so please do not fill in any of the blanks for me just yet.

There I’d have to leave you because I have just noticed the next thing on my list is to leave out clean clothes for work. I’d thank Part-Time Monster for giving us a reason to meet up in the first place and encourage you to share some stories of your own.

Till next time Eejits :)

  1. I hope you are feeling better this Juls, lists I get but I’m hopeless at hem like I am about to go grocery shopping without a list which usually means coming home and thinking drats I forgot the ….oh well there’s always tomorrow….take care…

  2. With you on the post and the comments above. We face similar challenges. I used to be a list-lover and then I started writing them in my favourite journal of the day, which changed often. Today’s favourite journal was not yesterday’s and therefore did not contain said list … Now I allow myself my humanity, play on my age, and simply forget :) Linda

  3. Sorry to hear the anxiety is kicking up—-that can be a right pain.

I’m trying to come to terms with the changes that WP is making, but I am just not a fan of most of them. I miss the old stats and notifications.

  5. Totally agree about the WordPress functions – I’m not particularly tech savvy so when they change it takes me ages to figure things out again!

Hope you’re feeling better about work – it’s always difficult to go back after a break isn’t it! How did you get on?

How about I share that bucket of wine with Steve? I could do with getting merry!

    • Turned out going back to work was just as a I thought. A few little mini meltdowns, there were tears and everything and the week finally ended.

You could try the old bucket of wine trick on Steve but I have a feeling he won’t give it up to easily. Everything ok? Usually not if people want to immerse themselves in a bucket instead of a glass :)

  6. I should have stock in coffee companies based on the amount I drink each day. I too can sympathize with days off, I like the fact I get up and then decide what I want to do. It’s so much better than knowing what you have to do before you even go to sleep the night before. I’m more of a fan for a large latte, with some vanilla or mocha in it. I have to agree with Steve, no need to stress about work. It’s there when you’re not and will always be there when you get back, it is what it is.

    • I’ve been thinking….shock horrr, that I might need to cut down on the amount of coffee I drink. I think it’s possibly making my anxiety a little worse than it should be mainly because I have been drinking it like it’s going out of fashion lol

I’m a cappuccino girl all the way, no chocolate on top mind, makes it far too sweet :)
